The Court of Appeal pointed out that s. 2.04 of the Code of ethics of engineers, which provides that an engineer expressing his opinion in an inspection report at the request of all the parties in a contract must base his opinion on sufficient knowledge and honest convictions, does not require that it shall be the only personal and complete knowledge that can satisfy this requirement. In fact, says the Court, it may be sufficient to carry out a visual inspection if the report is clear in this regard and if this is done with the knowledge and at the request of all parties.
